A few weeks ago, we tried Hungryroot's Garlic Pepper Turkey Tenderloin.  It's one of Hungryroot's newest protein options and it's delicious!  We made the turkey tenderloin in a skillet with a little olive oil and had it with rice.

But after tasting the medley of spices that season this tenderloin, I couldn't help but think that it would make amazing BBQ pulled turkey sandwiches!

So I ordered another Garlic Pepper Turkey Tenderloin in my last delivery along with some whole grain burger buns.  Then, I whipped up some BBQ pulled turkey tenderloin in the slow cooker and served it with coleslaw mix.

Just like pulled pork, this BBQ pulled turkey is simple to make and full of delicious barbecue flavor!  All it takes is a package of turkey tenderloin, a bottle of barbecue sauce, hamburger buns, and your favorite toppings to create this tasty spin on a summer classic!

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Turkey Tenderloin

If you're looking for a new summer sandwich recipe, this is it!  It's an easy weeknight meal with a ton of barbecue flavor.  Plus, cooking it in the slow cooker won't heat up your kitchen during those hot and sweltering days!

The first step in making this pulled turkey is easy.  Since the DIESTEL Garlic Pepper Turkey Tenderloin is seasoned already, I just had to place it in my slow cooker.

Then, I added an entire bottle of barbecue sauce to the turkey tenderloin.  If you find it's too thick, you can always water it down a little with water or chicken broth.  Or my favorite, a tablespoon or two of whiskey!

Season with salt and pepper and set the slow cooker to low.  Let the turkey cook for 6 hours.  At the last hour or two, I took a couple forks and shredded the turkey.  Then, I used tongs to toss the turkey with the sauce.

Once the turkey is finished, load it up on your favorite burger buns with toppings like crunchy coleslaw mix and pickles!
