Lots to Love Brownies

February 13, 2015

Lots to Love brownies use chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate sandwich cookies and brownie mix to create a chocolaty treat perfect for Valentine’s Day.

I am not a big sweets eater.  I can usually skip dessert.  There’s only one type of chocolaty treat that makes my will to pass on dessert absolutely crumble – brownies.  Brownies are my absolute weakness and I just happen to be married to one hell of a brownie master!  Watching him make brownies is like lady porn.  Hand me a brownie and it’s like “Mmm.  Oh yeah.  Give it to me now.” My love for brownies is hardcore, people.
I recently saw a post on Food Network’s Facebook page that took my love of brownies to a whole new level.  They posted the ménage à trois of brownie recipes that has a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate sandwich cookies and brownie mix.  So while preparing for our last ice storm, I bought the essentials – chocolate chip cookie dough, Red Velvet Cake Oreos and brownie mix.  If you’re going to be stuck indoors, you might as well be stuck with something good!

I used a simple Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie mix for my bottom layer.  Use your favorite recipe or premade cookie dough.  Because it’s Valentine’s Day, I used Red Velvet Cake Oreos as my second layer.  Any Oreo cookie will do.  I can’t wait to try this recipe again once the S’mores Oreos hit store shelves (it’s happening)!  My husband and I had a debate as to what brownie mix he usually uses (he didn’t even remember) so I went with Betty Crocker’s fudge brownie mix.

It’s pretty obscene how good these brownies are! I’ve been eating them one half at a time because they’re big and they’re sweet. I shared some with family and my husband’s been taking them to work with him. Even the brownie master said these brownies are really good! That’s a major compliment!

There is definitely a lot to love inside each layer of these brownies. Share them with someone you love for Valentine’s Day! Enjoy!
