I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a year! Despite not knowing what's in store for us in 2021, I can't help but be hopeful. I think plenty of other people are trying to stay hopeful, too, and looking ahead to the new year.

Holiday plans have changed this year, but our New Year's Eve plans are basically staying the same - putting our pajamas on early, eating nothing but appetizers and snacks, watching plenty of end-of-the-year TV, and most likely falling asleep before midnight.

Since it's been such a hard year for everyone, I wanted to create a way to make staying in this New Year's Eve entertaining and enjoyable! So I've put together a DIY New Year's Eve Night In Kit! This kit includes everything you need to spend a fun New Year's Eve at home!

I've included a cozy blanket to snuggle under, champagne glasses and mini bubbly beverages (for those 21 and older, of course), some noisemakers and party hats, and chocolate kisses! And to add to the fun, I've also included some New Jersey Lottery Holiday Scratch-Offs! What better way to ring in the New Year than with some extra cash in your pocket?

DIY New Year's Eve Night In Kit

I reused a 12"x16" holiday gift box to create my kit. It was the perfect size to hold everything I included in this kit! The first thing I included inside the box is a fluffy blanket to snuggle underneath. Fold it to fit inside.

The next thing I did was hang some of the Holiday Scratch-Offs across the lid of the box. I did this by loosely taping twine to the lid. Then, I used mini clothespins to add glitter cardstock stars and one of each of the Holiday Scratch-Offs.

After that, I started to fill the box. I got a couple champagne glasses and filled them with chocolate kisses - because you have to have a kiss at midnight, whether it's chocolate or the real thing (preferably both)!

I finished filling my box with party hats, noisemakers, a couple small bottles of sparkling wine, and some more Holiday Scratch-Offs.

Not only is this New Year's Eve Night In Kit easy to make, it's budget-friendly, too! I grabbed most of the supplies from the dollar store and the Holiday Scratch-Offs are available in $1, $2, $5 Happy Holidays, and $10 $1,000,000 Spectacular games at any brick and mortar lottery retailer, like 7-11, Quick Check, or Wawa.

SUPPLIES

Decorative gift box with lid
Cozy throw blanket
New Jersey Lottery Holiday Scratch-Offs
Twine
Scissors
Tape
Mini clothespins
Glitter cardstock stars
Chocolate kisses
2 champagne glasses
2 small sparkling beverage bottles (such as, champagne, wine, or sparkling cider)
Party hats and tiaras
Noise makers

STEPS

Open the box, or remove the lid from the box and set aside. Fold your blanket to fit the box and place inside.
If you want to hang Holiday Scratch-Offs across the top of the lid, loosely attach twine by taping it to the lid. Then, use mini clothespins to alternately hang glitter cardstock stars and the Holiday Scratch-Offs.
Now, you can start filling your box. Fill the champagne glasses with chocolate kisses and carefully place them into the box.
Then, add the party hats and sparkling beverage bottles towards the back of the box.
Prop up more Holiday Scratch-Offs in front. Then, finish the box by adding some noisemakers.
