Raspberry and Rose Sparkling Water

Our raspberry bush has grown into a monster and in the process has swallowed up a couple of our rose bushes.  While picking berries one weekend, I noticed a beautiful rose in full bloom, peeking out from the middle of some raspberry leaves.  I started thinking about raspberry and roses and became very inspired.  As I ran inside to grab my notebook, I stopped my husband and told him, “Remember these two words – raspberries and roses.”

Since that time, I’ve been trying to come up with some sort of flavorful combination containing raspberries and roses.  I thought about baking, but fell short on ideas.  So I turned my thoughts to beverages.  I found that there are a lot of drinks that contain raspberry and rose water.
I didn’t want to create a cocktail and I’m already drowning in so many different types of teas.  Instead, I thought about creating a simple, sparkling water using fresh raspberries from the garden and a splash of relaxing rose water.  This drink may sound luxurious, but it’s rather easy to make!

If you find this sparkling water is a bit too floral for your taste, cut the rose water back to 1/2 a teaspoon.  If that’s still too much, you can omit it and just enjoy a bubbly, raspberry drink.  If you wish to turn this into an adult beverage, add a splash of white wine or vodka.  This Raspberry and Rose Sparkling Water would make a great drink to serve at a bridal shower or baby shower. It’s also quite enjoyable to sip on a sunny, Summer afternoon!  Enjoy!
