Apple Spice Snack Cake

This sweet and buttery Apple Spice Snack Cake recipe is loaded with chunks of apple and seasonal spices. It's easy to make and ready in 30 minutes. It will get you inspired for all of the delicious flavors of fall!

  • 1 9x9 inch baking pan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter or 1 stick, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • Optional: turbinado sugar for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x9" baking pan.
  • Cream butter and sugars together until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs, one egg at a time, and stir in vanilla.
  • Mix in the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Fold in the apples.
  • Spread the cake batter evenly into the pan. Sprinkle turbinado sugar on top, if using.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the cake.
  • Allow cake to cool before cutting into 12 pieces.
