Boozy Whiskey Apple Crisp

A simple apple crisp recipe gets a boozy update with the addition of whiskey. It’s a delicious apple dessert with a buttery oat topping, cinnamon and sugar sweetness, and whiskey infused flavor!

Ingredients

For the topping:

  • 1 c. old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. coarse salt
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter melted

For the filling:

  • 2 pounds apple peeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. whiskey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 inch square pan with butter.
  • To make topping, mix the oats, brown sugar, salt, and butter in a small bowl.  Set aside.
  • In another bowl, toss together the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and whiskey.  
  • Fill the prepared pan with the apple mixture.
  • Then, sprinkle the apples with the oat topping.  
  • Bake the apple crisp for 30 minutes, or until topping turns golden brown.  
  • Allow to cool slightly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
