Ingredients
For the topping:
1c.old-fashioned oats
1/4c.brown sugar
1/8tsp.coarse salt
1/2stick unsalted buttermelted
For the filling:
2poundsapplepeeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
1/4c.brown sugar
1/2tsp.ground cinnamon
2tbsp.whiskey
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 inch square pan with butter.
To make topping, mix the oats, brown sugar, salt, and butter in a small bowl. Set aside.
In another bowl, toss together the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and whiskey.
Fill the prepared pan with the apple mixture.
Then, sprinkle the apples with the oat topping.
Bake the apple crisp for 30 minutes, or until topping turns golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
