Bleeding Candle Pretzel Rods

Transform ordinary pretzel rods into ghoulishly good bleeding candles made with white and red candy melts and almond slices. They're a spooky, but delicious, salty-sweet snack that will creep out your Halloween party guests!

Equipment

  • 2 microwave safe bowls or small saucepans
  • 1 large sheet wax paper

Ingredients

  • 10 pretzel rods
  • 1 12 oz. bag bright white candy melts
  • 1/2 12 oz. bag red candy melts
  • 10 sliced almonds

Instructions

  • Melt white candy melts as directed on package, or in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Dip pretzel rod 3/4 of the way or more. Set the dipped pretzel rods on wax paper and let solidify.
  • Once the white candy has hardened, melt the red candy melts according to package, or in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Dip the top of the hardened candy pretzel rod into the melted red candy melts. Use a toothpick to create a dripping candle look.
  • Place the pretzels back onto the wax paper to solidify again.
  • Serve once hardened.
