How to Make Crushed Tomatoes
Have an overabundance of garden tomatoes? It only takes a few easy steps to make fresh homemade crushed tomatoes with your garden haul!

- Fresh tomatoes
- Water
- Ice water
Score an "x" onto the bottom of each tomato.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully place tomatoes into the pot. Boil until skin starts to peel away.
When ready, place tomatoes into large bowl of ice water. Cool completely.
Peel the tomatoes and discard the skin. Place the tomatoes into a blender. Pulse until smooth.
Alternately, place tomatoes into a large bowl and use an immersion blender to blend tomatoes until smooth.
Pour sauce into freezer-safe jars or freezer bags. Keep in freezer up to three months.
