Shop FAQs

Can simmer pot kits be used in a crockpot?
Yes. Place the kit into a crockpot (a smaller qt. size works best). Fill with water and set to high. Heat with lid on for 1-2 hours. Then, remove lid, lower heat, and enjoy. Although kits can be used in crockpots, note that the fragrance throw isn’t as strong as heating on the stovetop.

How do I use a simmer pot kit?
Place kit into sauce pan and fill with water. Simmer, uncovered, on low heat. Add more water if desired.

Do you have chamomile products?
Unfortunately, no, and I don’t plan on using chamomile to make products. I am allergic to it. But I have several lavender products available if you’re looking for calming/relaxing items.

Can I reuse simmer pot kits?
Yes! Allow the simmer pot to cool. Then, carefully pour the contents (liquid and simmering ingredients) into an airtight container or jar. Store in the fridge 1-2 days.

What supplies are grown in your garden?
I try and use as much as possible from our backyard garden. Things like rosemary, mint, sage, eucalyptus, and some flowers are sourced from our garden during the growing season. I preserve as much as possible. What I can’t grow, I try to gather from local sources.

Is your garden treated with chemicals?
No. Our garden is pesticide-free. I grow plants that attract beneficial insects that will take care of pests in our garden.

How do you prepare natural supplies for products?
Fruits and herbs are prepped and dehydrated in my home. For products such as pine needles, please read this post: https://www.holokahome.com/how-i-clean-pine-needles-for-products/

How long do packaged simmer pot kits last?
Any products made with dried fruits, herbs, etc. will last about a year. If not using right away, they should be stored in a cool, dry place.

How is my order packaged?
I package every order myself. Your items are packed with care with special touches like tissue paper wrapping and ribbon – a treat for yourself and gift items. A packing slip is shipped with every order. I also try to reuse boxes and other packing materials (packing paper, bubble wrap, etc.) as much as possible.
