Hello!

Welcome to Holoka Home, formerly Living La Vida Holoka.  At the end of 2023, I decided to rebrand and rethink the direction of my website.  I also started a small botanical inspired business and Etsy shop.  More about that later!

About Jessica

I’m a former water burner turned daily home cook.  When I’m not working on new shop items or writing up new content, you can usually find me hanging outdoors with my husband and our dog, Hunter. We’re pretty much homebodies and like hanging out in the backyard, tending to our garden, and being with family.

I also love to hunt for vintage and antique yard sale finds.  Trash day is like a holiday for me!  I've rescued numerous pieces from the curb and restored them to furnish our home.

Coming from a big Italian family, I love to eat (although I prefer home cooked meals to going out).  I’ve even managed to turn my husband into a foodie, “assistant” blogger, and sometimes Instagram husband!  I love finding new ways to let my creative juices flow whether it’s in the kitchen, doing a DIY project, or planting in our garden!

About the Website

The content you'll find on my website hasn't changed much since I've rebranded.  But the intention behind it has.  I've gone from blogging three or more times a week to once a week.  Quality over quantity.  I'm currently focusing on wholesome homemade recipes with a back-to-basics vibe.  Recipes that are simple and budget-friendly for any level home cook and family size.

I've also decided to talk a lot more about my garden.  We extended our backyard garden at the end of Summer 2023.  Not only do I have a passion for gardening (flowers and native plants, vegetables, and herbs), but I have a passion for preserving our garden goodies and also using herbs and florals in my products.  It's part of my business now!

If you're looking for craft and DIY content, the occasional craft post will still appear from time-to-time.  But as I figure out this new journey, this type of content may not happen as frequently as it used to.

I am always open to suggestions if you would like to see a certain recipe, DIY project, or other subject on my website.  You can contact me at any time.

About the Shop

Along with my website, Holoka Home is also the name of my shop.  My Etsy shop was started after I turned my Saturday morning ritual of simmering stovetop potpourri into a business.  My business took off during the holiday season of 2023 and has inspired me to create botanical products ever since.

Not only do I sell simmer pot kits, my shop also includes other handmade items like dream pillows, scrunchies, reusable car air fresheners, handmade paper bookmarks, fragrance sachets, bath products, and more!

Every handmade item in my shop was made solely by me.  I dehydrate the herbs and fruits in my home for my simmer pot kits and try to use as much as possible from local sources, and even my own garden.  Items like the scrunchies and dream pillows are sewn on a 100 year old Singer sewing machine (that keeps kicking ass).

You can find my handmade products here on my website or on Etsy.

Let's Work Together!

I believe in building relationships with brands that I already use in my home and personal life.  That makes the brands that I work with a great fit for my website and my readers, as well!

If you choose to partner with Holoka Home, I will always give my clear and honest opinion within my post, and represent your brand in a truly respectful and professional manner.

What Can I Do for You?

Holoka Home is a for-profit blog.  I currently offer professional services in the form of product reviews, recipe creations, social media promotions, and sponsored content.  All of the content on my website is made by me.

Prior to my rebrand, I had ongoing partnerships with brands like CricutHungryroot, Torani, NJ Lottery and more!  I have also been featured on numerous websites and in national magazine and newspaper publications.

I am looking to partner with brands who believe in sustainability, are looking for content in the form of recipe creations, gardening, pets, and DIY.  If you think you would be a good fit for my blog and are interested in working with me, please contact me at jessicaholoka@gmail.com.  I look forward to working with you!
