Every holiday season, I tell myself I won't over-indulge. But when the holiday season ends, I can definitely feel - and see - that I enjoyed all of those Christmas cookies, adult beverages, and then some a little too much. So now it's time for a post-holiday reset. I'm trading sugar and a lot of the processed junk for wholesome, nutritious foods (and honestly, I've never craved vegetables more).
One area of my diet that I definitely needed to work on was snacking. During the holiday season, it was way too easy to grab a sugary snack - homemade Christmas cookies and candies, and those damn addictive Little Debbie's Christmas Tree Cakes! As someone who loves grabbing snacks throughout the day, I knew I had to make some changes.
Healthy Snacks I've Been Eating
I gave myself the first week of January to do a fridge clean out and cook what was left from the holiday season (we try not to waste food around here). The following week, I headed to Sprouts and Trader Joe's to stock up on healthier choices. I made sure to grab a ton of good snacks - especially things I could just grab and enjoy. I also made sure to prep what I could to make grab-and-go snacking even easier.
If you're looking for post-holiday reset snack ideas, here's a list of what I've been nibbling on. These snacks are pretty simple and easy to find, too, even if you don't have stores like Sprouts, Trader Joe's, or Whole Foods near you.
