July is my birthday month and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll be 35 at the end of this month.  I figure since I'm halfway to 40, I'm definitely going to celebrate this year!  Do you remember that Seinfeld episode where it was the "Summer of George" and George had planned to completely live it up that Summer (even though, ultimately, that didn't happen)?  Well, I'm declaring this Summer the "Summer of Jess!"

So far, I've been to one country concert and have two more concerts lined up.  I've been hanging out with my family and celebrating other Summer babies' birthdays.  My July is filling up with one event after the other! And what's a celebration without cake? Well, I have to admit that I'm not at all a fan of birthday cake. However, I will totally indulge in birthday cake flavored desserts and treats.

I may have begun my celebrating a little early last week while I was hanging out with my sister.  We went to lunch, then headed to Walmart to pick up ingredients to make ourselves Birthday Cake Milkshakes.  We stocked up on containers of Blue Bunny® ice cream.  Have you seen their new containers?  The clear containers allow you to see the swirl of flavor inside!

I bought Blue Bunny® Super Chunky Cookie Dough® and Blue Bunny® Blu's Birthday Party® to bring to a family gathering over the weekend.  I also picked up Smucker's Strawberry Spoonable Ice Cream Topping (something to add a little fun to our ice cream sundaes!).  For our milkshakes, I bought Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla.  Vanilla ice cream will always be my favorite and Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla definitely tastes like creamy, homemade ice cream!  It was the perfect ice cream to use in our milkshakes!

Birthday Cake Milkshake

This milkshake alone is reason to celebrate!  It's cold and creamy, perfect for satisfying your craving for something sweet and beating the heat on a hot and sunny day.  The addition of dry cake mix gives it just enough of a vanilla birthday cake flavor without disguising the classic taste of silky vanilla ice cream.  And you can't go wrong with a rainbow sprinkle rimmed glass and a dollop of whipped cream!  I know what I'll be having for dessert all over again the day of my birthday!
