I am so excited for Simply {Darr}ling's Glue Gun Wars! It's a crafty link-up where she features a new DIY challenge each month. That's my kind of war! This month's challenge features GLITTER! I went into my craft storage for inspiration and found a red glitter foam sheet I had purchased some time ago. I thought it might be fun to make glitter heart stirrers to use in a sweet little cocktail. Today's post is a DIY and recipe in one!
Making the drink stirrers is super easy! Glitter foam is cut into heart shapes using cookie cutters for tracing. I used a hot glue gun to attach the hearts to a bamboo skewer.
GLITTER HEART DRINK STIRRER
SUPPLIES
- red glitter foam sheet
- bamboo skewers
- heart cookie cutters, for tracing
- glue
STEPS
1. Using heart-shaped cookie cutters, or drawing freehand, draw three different sized hearts on the backside of the foam sheet.
2. Cut the hearts out and using hot glue, or glue of choice, attach hearts onto the bamboo skewer. Layer the hearts with the biggest on top and smallest on the bottom.
3. Allow glue to dry and add to a Cherry Cola Cocktail or your favorite Valentine's Day drink.
Now that you've made your glitter stirrers, you need a cocktail to use them in! The classic flavors of cherry cola get amped up with cherry flavored vodka and maraschino cherries.
