If you've been following my blog for a while, then you probably know how much I love creating themed content. But what you might not know is that one of my favorite types of content to create (besides Halloween) is Shark Week content! I've made some Shark Week crafts, snack recipes, and dessert ideas in the past. But one thing I hadn't made was a shark themed drink. Until today!
There are actually a lot of shark-themed alcoholic beverages out there from cocktails to even jelly shots. But I haven't come across too many non-alcoholic shark themed recipes. So I decided to make my own shark themed beverage complete with a little "blood in the water" and "swimming shark." That might not sound too appetizing, but it's a totally delicious drink with a fun Shark Week presentation!
This drink tastes like summer in a glass! It's a coconut water based lemonade that's made to look like bloody shark infested water with the help of blue colored flavor syrup (I used Jordan's Skinny Mixes Mermaid Syrup) and a splash of maraschino cherry juice. Gummy sharks add a fun "infested water" look to this drink and taste pretty darn good, too!
Coconut Shark Water Lemonade
Shark Week starts July 20th, so if you're planning to consume all of the shark shows (we'll probably have the TV tuned into Discovery all week), make sure to add this drink recipe to your marathon menu! This recipe serves one, but can easily be multiplied if you're binge-watching Shark Week with friends and family.
This drink is incredibly easy to make. First, I combined the coconut water, Mermaid Skinny Syrup, and lemon juice in a glass. The Mermaid syrup adds to the coconut flavor. It's a nice tropical flavored syrup. One of my favorites! If you can't find the syrup, you could also use a drop or two of blue food coloring.
Now, we're going to add some ice to the glass (I added gummy sharks to my ice) so our drink is nice and chilled. Then comes the fun part! Add a drizzle of maraschino cherry juice to the drink. I like the way it separated in the glass so you get blood red at the bottom and ocean blue at the top.
Finish the drink by dropping in some gummy sharks (if you're not making ice cubes with them inside) and adding a maraschino cherry on top. Enjoy immediately!

This is such a fun drink to make for Shark Week. It would also be good for your Summerween celebrations! See! I worked in that Halloween theme after all! But seriously, it's so much fun to make and tastes so good - like a tropical summer vacation in a glass! Make this for your next shark themed celebration or all summer long!
