It's that time of year again when parents are counting down the days until they send their kiddos back to school. Sports fans are gearing up to cheer on their favorite winter sports teams. And me? I'm just looking for an excuse to break out the game day food!
I must admit that I'm the type of football fan who probably pays a little more attention to the spread of food being served than the actual game on TV. What can I say? I'm a total foodie! I don't know pigskins as much as I know pucks. Either way, if you give me all of that glorious game day food, I will participate in the football action and ultimately regret not wearing looser pants.
When it comes down to game day food, one of my favorite foods to bring to parties and enjoy is chips and dip. I've said it a million times before - I'd rather grab a big bowl of chips than a bowl of ice cream! All of my recent excitement for the fall had me itching to make one of my favorite game day dips - cream cheese crab dip. So I recently whipped up a batch for my husband and me to enjoy while hanging out at home.
This cream cheese crab dip recipe was originally given to me by my old supervisor and friend. It has become my go-to dip recipe to bring to parties. I've since made a few adjustments to her original recipe. I've omitted some of her ingredients and added in my own to give it a whole new flavor and make it a little more figure-friendly!
This dip can easily be made in the microwave with a block of cream cheese, a can of white crab meat, and some fresh ingredients like diced bell peppers and onions. It will definitely get you into the game, but it's perfect for serving all year 'round! This dip is better the next day so make it a day ahead of time and keep it covered in the fridge until game time.

I recently took a trip to our local Family Dollar and picked up Wise chips to serve with this dip. While I was there, I also stocked up on Coca-Cola™ products. Look for the Coca-Cola and Wise snacks display in Family Dollar for easy game day shopping.
