Can you believe that tomorrow we turn the calendar to September? With every month that goes by, I continue to question where this year has gone. I must admit that I’ve had just enough of the heat and humidity summer’s thrown at us. I’m ready for cooler, jacket weather. I know that means that the cold, harsh winter and snow isn’t far behind. Honestly, I think I’d rather deal with snow than breaking a sweat when I walk outside (but ask me again when we’re shoveling out in a few months).

One thing I’ve been entirely too excited for is the return of pumpkin everything (admit it, you’re excited, too)! I’m already pinning pumpkin recipes up a storm and I can’t wait to decorate pumpkins with my husband again this year! Since it’s practically September, I figured I would start working on some fall and Halloween crafts.

DIY Halloween Pumpkin Terrarium

I went to Michaels for a few things last week and couldn’t help myself while browsing some of their fall craft items. Craft pumpkins were already marked down 40% off!  I’ve had the idea to make a terrarium in a pumpkin probably since last fall.  So I bought a diorama craft pumpkin and a few things to fill it with.

I started building my terrarium with a layer of moss at the bottom.  Then, I glued in some artificial air plants and succulents that I had on hand from other terrariums I’ve made.  I placed some mini pumpkins in-between. The last thing I did was add glitter spiders around the outside of the pumpkin for a spooky, Halloween touch. Now, I just have to contain my excitement a little longer to put this pumpkin out on display!

  2. Next, arrange succulents and air plants. Then, glue into place.
  3. Add mini pumpkins around plants and glue into place.
  4. Last, hot glue spiders onto the outside of the pumpkin and display.
