These DIY Stamped Lavender Sachet Wedding Favors are a fragrant, personalized way to celebrate your wedding day!

It’s funny. Six months ago we got engaged and we didn’t set a date right away. Months and months went by and I could hardly plan anything because I didn’t have a date to plan around. I bought a dress, I got shoes, and I knew what colors I wanted for our reception. Then I got laid off and BAM! Wedding planning went into full effect and the house (mainly our dining room) became Wedding Central.
We went down to City Hall, applied for our marriage license, set a date, and we’re well on our way to officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. It’s July and I can hardly believe it myself, but in three weeks I will be Mrs. H. THREE WEEKS! I have a few more things to mark off my checklist, but other than that it’s smooth sailing into the 20th.
The theme of our backyard reception is a garden party mixed with an enchanted evening. Colors are lavender and pale yellow and the decor is a little rustic. I placed an order for some garden-themed party favors off TheKnot, but I made lavender stamped sachets as part of our “wedding goodie bags.” The favors are super easy to create, inexpensive, and can be customized for any occasion.
- You’ll need muslin bags. I ordered mine off of Amazon. Since our guest list is small, I only needed one package.
- Visit your craft store for rubber stamps and ink. I bought this bride & groom stamp, a set of alphabet stamps, and a black ink pad. If you want to add the date, number stamps can be purchased. Most popular craft stores offer in-store coupons so make sure to take them with you!
- Buy bulk lavender buds. I ordered a pound of dried lavender. I ordered culinary lavender so whatever was left over could be turned into the lavender lemonade I so enjoyed last summer.
- Stamp, stuff and tie bags. Once you have your stamps and lavender, stamp your bags. I stamped our bags with a simple “M & J” and the bride and groom stamp. When all of your bags have been stamped, fill to the top with lavender and tie tightly so lavender doesn’t spill out.
- Add embellishments, if desired. I felt the bags looked a little plain on their own so I bought some “thank you” charms and mini paper flowers to tie onto the top of the bags.
I made our sachets months ago and they’re still very fragrant. I stored them in a closet in a closed plastic bag. These are our finished “goodie bags.” Party City had a good deal on a pack of 12 purple bags (they have a good assortment of colors) plus silver heart wedding seals. I put my favors together in a bag, folded them over and closed them with a seal.
I love the idea of being a DIY bride. I loved how hands-on and personal this project was. I feel like adding personally crafted favors to your wedding really shows guests how appreciative you are of them. Although a wedding day is a special day for the bride and groom, it’s also a special day for those who get to share it with you.
