I love fruit salsas and recently had a major craving for chips and salsa made with fresh and juicy summertime flavors. So I decided to use up some of the fruit I had in my fridge and made a tropical style fruit salsa. I used peaches, mango, pineapple, and lime juice. For a hint of savory flavor, I added some red onion and bell pepper. It turned out to be a really delicious combo!
I could have easily eaten this salsa with a spoon, but I got some lime tortilla chips to have with it. Cause what is salsa without some chips? It's such a good combo of sweet, savory, and slightly tart flavors. While I've been enjoying this salsa as a snack, it's definitely a winner as a snack or appetizer for summertime celebrations!
I didn't add any spice to this recipe, but you can easily adjust it to use jalapeño instead of bell pepper. I can't wait to try this recipe again once our coolapeños (heatless jalapeños) start growing in our garden! Speaking of our garden, I decided to toss in a little fresh mint, as well, to add some cool, refreshing flavor.
Tropical Fruit Salsa
I basically used whatever fruit I had on hand at the time. You can also include fruits like watermelon, strawberries, cherries, or other popular summertime fruits. I love lime tortilla chips, but if they're not your favorite you can serve this salsa with regular tortilla chips, sweet potato tortilla chips (for sweetness), or even plantain chips.
Making this salsa is super easy! Ready? Throw all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir to combine. All done!
Of course, it's best if you allow this salsa to chill in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes. This allows the flavors to combine. But trust me, this salsa is pretty good without the wait, as well!
Then, place the salsa in a serving dish and serve with your favorite tortilla chips. That's it!

Tropical Fruit Salsa
Equipment
- 1 large mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh pineapple diced
- 1 large mango peeled and diced
- 2 medium peaches pitted and diced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper diced
- 1/4 cup red onion diced
- 1 tbsp. fresh mint leaves chopped
- 1 lime juiced
- Pinch of salt to taste
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into a bowl. Stir to combine.
- If desired, place salsa in the fridge and allow it to sit 15-20 minutes to meld the flavors together.
- Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
Of course, this salsa is so good with tortilla chips. But it's also really good on top of grilled chicken or shrimp. Stuff an avocado with it or use it as a topping for avocado toast. It would even be delicious used as a topping for fish tacos or a simple burrito bowl.
