Decorating for Easter was like a breath of fresh air after what felt like the longest winter season. Adding soft pastels, natural touches, and seasonal accents made the house come alive again. And if you're anything like me, you don’t want to pack all of that springtime charm away right after the holiday passes. That’s why I love decorating with pieces that take the beauty of the Easter season and combine it with whimsical spring style.
This mini bunny wreath is a perfect example of that balance. Bunnies are a traditional symbol of Easter and also a timeless symbol of spring - representing rebirth and renewal. This wreath easily transitions from Easter to everyday spring decor with its natural elements and organic feel. It’s made with a grapevine base, lush green moss, and seasonal touches like dried flowers and soft ribbon details.
This wreath is super simple to make, starting with two mini grapevine wreaths. The bunny ears are shaped using natural wrapped wire creating the cutest silhouette. Then comes the fun part - decorating it with those special springtime touches. Ribbons drape softly from the bottom of the wreath while preserved reindeer moss and dried flowers add texture and color to create the sweetest springtime decoration.
DIY Grapevine Mini Bunny Wreath
One of the best things about this wreath is that it’s totally customizable. Whether you decide to keep it neutral and earthy or embrace all that gorgeous spring color, you can decorate it to suit your decor style. It’s easy enough to make as a charming decoration for your home or to give as a thoughtful Easter gift.
The first thing we need to do is form our wreath base. Take the two grapevine wreaths and attach them together with a zip tie. Clip the excess zip tie. Then, cut two pieces of the wrapped wire with wire cutters, cutting them a bit longer than you intend to use for the rabbit ears. Form each piece of wire into a rabbit ear shape and attach to the wreath by wrapping the excess wire around the wreath.
Now, we're going to cut long strips of ribbon and tie them to the bottom of the wreath. Allow enough length so each ribbon drapes nicely off the bottom of the wreath. Trim the ribbon, if necessary.
Next, heat a glue gun and start gluing moss around the base of the wreath. You can either completely coat the wreath in moss or space it out around the wreath. I spaced it out, making sure to use it to cover the zip tie, the bottom of the rabbit ears, as well as the tops of the ribbon.
Glue dried flowers in place around the wreath. I used them to create a "flower crown" look as well as gluing them around the base of the wreath. If desired, add a loop of ribbon to the top of the wreath for hanging. Once the glue is completely dry, hang the wreath or gift it to someone special for Easter.
