The living room floor has been scattered with all different types of dog toys the past week and a half. Tug ropes, plush squeaky toys, and chew toys have littered our home. There’s no reason for our puppy to ever get bored!
Then one afternoon I finished drinking a bottle of water. As I got ready to throw it into the recycling bin, the bottle made a delightful crinkle noise. At first, Hunter’s curiosity got the best of him. He wasn’t exactly sure where the noise was coming from, so he started to bark. But then I rolled the bottle across the floor and forget it! I think he spent about 20 or 30 minutes just running back and forth, chasing the bottle.
I didn’t want Hunter’s teething to cause him to chew straight through the bottle or choke on the cap. So I made the bottle puppy friendly in just a few simple steps. All you need to make this toy is a sock, a water bottle, and somebody to chase it!
SUPPLIES
- Empty plastic water bottle
- A clean, old sock
- Scissors
STEPS
- Stick a water bottle into a sock.
- Tie the sock into a knot at the top of the water bottle. Make sure it’s nice and tight!
- Trim the top, if necessary, and let puppy go wild over his new toy!
If your sock is missing their other half, this is a great way to repurpose it into a toy your dog will love! It will seriously keep them amused for a quite a while. As always, supervise your puppy’s play to keep them safe and out of trouble.
