It feels like I've been in total baking mode since the weather's cooled off.  I've made focaccia bread, apple cinnamon bread, Pumpkin White Chocolate Chip Bars, and a ton of pumpkin cinnamon rolls!  But I hadn't really baked anything for Halloween.  So while I was deciding what kind of spooky treats to bake, I was reminded of one of my past recipes.

If this recipe sounds familiar, it's because it's based off of my Easy Cake Mix Holiday M&M Bars.  I have a bunch of Halloween sprinkles in my kitchen cabinet, so I thought it would be fun to put a spooky spin on these cake mix bars!  Just like the original recipe, I also added M&M's to the mix - Ghoul's Mix M&M's in purple, green, and orange Halloween colors.

These cake mix bars are easy to whip up for your spooky season festivities!  All you need is a box of yellow cake mix, eggs, butter, M&M's, and some Halloween sprinkles!  Then, bake, cool, and cut into bars for a ghoulishly good treat!

Easy Halloween M&M Cake Mix Bars

These Halloween M&M Cake Mix Bars are perfectly sweet and chewy.  The crunch of milk chocolate M&M's is delicious and the Halloween sprinkles add a fun and festive touch!  Get creative with creepy sprinkles like edible eyes and Halloween shapes!

The first thing we need to do is add a couple of eggs and melted butter to a mixing bowl.  If the butter is still warm from being melted, add it a gradually to the eggs.  Then, add the box of cake mix and mix just until combined.

Now we can fold in our Ghoul's Mix M&M's and Halloween sprinkles. Save some extra candy and sprinkles to add to the top of the cake mix.

Spoon the dough into a greased 9″x13″ baking pan. Press it evenly into the pan with a rubber spatula.  If desired, add more M&M’s and sprinkles on top.

Bake the bars for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is cooked through.  Allow the bars to cool completely, then cut into squares and serve!
