I just celebrated the 1 year anniversary of opening my Etsy shop. Things picked up quickly last year and I spent a majority of the holiday season dehydrating fruits, processing Christmas tree needles, and putting hundreds of simmer pot kits together. I was at the post office more times than I can count. It was a very good first holiday season as a small business owner.

So here we are again. I think I'm a bit more prepared this year. I can feel the holiday shopping season starting to trickle its way into my shop. Simmer pot kits are making their way to happy homes. Christmas Morning is once again a big hit. My dream pillows made a comeback and now there are just a small quantity left. And it's always nice to see immediate interest in new items.

What's New This Holiday Season

I have several new items in my shop this holiday season. Along with last year's favorite simmer pot kits, there are four new holiday/winter simmer pot blends.

Northern Lights

The Northern Lights simmer pot kit was wholly inspired by the Aurora Borealis. It's a bright blend of citrus fruits with a wintry and woodsy combination of fir needles and cinnamon sticks.

Merry and Bright

Merry and Bright is just that! It's a fruity, citrusy holiday blend made with grapefruit, clementine, cranberries, clove, star anise, and cinnamon. It's a little cozy and a lot of fun!

Lemon and Fir

If you're looking for a nice, clean scent to simmer during the holiday season or winter, give Lemon and Fir a try. This simmer pot kit is made with dried lemon slices, fir needles, rosemary, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. It's warm and a little spicy with a touch of citrus and earthiness.

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice celebrates the season with a blend of cinnamon sticks, rosemary, dried oranges, star anise, and cloves. Simmer this during your solstice celebration, throughout the holiday season, or during the winter months.

Peace and Prosperity

Celebrate the New Year with Peace and Prosperity. This simmer pot blend is made with rosemary, ginger, bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, dried orange slices, dried apples, and dried lemons. While I made this blend for New Year's Day, it would also make a nice housewarming gift.

Red and Green Velvet Mushroom Ornaments

The first new ornament I made this year was these mushrooms. They have a wooden stem that's covered with moss at the bottom. The mushroom cap is made with your choice of red or green velvet fabric and sparkly spots. These ornaments are very cottagecore and perfect for the fairytale or nature lover!

Monarch Butterfly Cloche Ornament

A few years ago, I made myself a glass ornament with moss and a faux butterfly inside. I decided to update the ornament, making it with a glass cloche ornament instead. Sparkly green moss sits inside the ornament's cork base with a faux monarch butterfly and dried baby's breath resting on top. The ornament is finished with red ribbon to bring the holiday feel together.

Retro Reindeer Wooden Ornament

I currently have only one of these reindeer ornaments in stock. The wooden reindeer base is stained and dressed up with tinsel, printed cardstock, and red beads to give it a very retro look. The back of the ornament also has a lovely holiday print. Perfect for the vintage Christmas lover!

Mini Bottle Brush Lightbulb Ornament

These mini lightbulb ornaments are one of my best sellers so far this season. Their retro Christmas look will add charm to your Christmas tree. The lightbulb is filled with sparkly moss and colorful mini bottle brush trees. They include a green velvet ribbon for hanging.

Christmas Star Wooden Wreath

As soon as I saw these wooden star bases, I knew I wanted to turn them into a holiday wreath. The detailed star base is stained. Then, the star is dressed up with holiday greenery, gold balls, pine cones, and a cinnamon stick. The star includes a loop of twine for hanging.

Mini Cinnamon or Eucalyptus Brooms

I love a good cinnamon broom during the holiday season! So I decided to dress some up and make them available in my shop. These brooms are available in your choice of cinnamon or eucalyptus scent. They're decorated with a dried orange slice, cinnamon stick, cinnamon pine cone, baby's breath, eucalyptus (from my garden), and ethically/legally sourced pheasant feathers.

These brooms will add some warmth to your home during the holidays. They'd also make a nice holiday host gift.

Holiday Print Hand Warmers

The last new item for the season is holiday print hand warmers. I have a few all season prints in my shop. But there was interest in holiday prints. The prints you've seen in my scented fabric ornaments are now available as hand warmers too.

These hand warmers are reusable and can be heated in the microwave to keep hands warm during the winter months. They'd make a cute stocking stuffer + a nice small gift for anyone who works outdoors.

Holiday Shipping Deadlines

Now that I've shared all the goods, let's talk about getting them to you in time for the holidays. Like I always say, it's better to shop early. During one of my hundreds of trips to the post office last year, I was told that they were pretty backed up. Once an order is at the post office, it's out of my hands. But I try to ship orders 1-3 days after they're placed. So let's get to those shipping deadlines for this year!

USPS Ground Advantage - December 18
Priority Mail - December 19

These are the two types of shipping I offer. Every once in a while, I ship FedEx. If you need an upgraded shipping rate, feel free to message me and I will work with you to get your packages to you in time!

Thank you so much for shopping small this holiday season. I know every small business owner really and truly appreciates it!
