I belong to a Cricut group on Facebook and, man, are there some talented Cricut crafters out there! While I was scrolling through the endless amounts of impressive projects in the group, I came across a clever baby shower gift - an "Oh Shit Kit." It's an emergency bag filled with all sorts of essentials for car trips or whenever you're on-the-go with baby.
Poop happens. Right? So I figured it was a great extra gift to include with my sister's baby shower gifts. It was a last minute gift idea, but I was able to put together a cute kit using my Cricut Maker, Infusible Ink, a canvas bag, and some baby items that would totally come in handy when life - or a baby - hands you a blowout!
What to Include in an Oh Shit Kit
I included a funny, poop related onesie, baby socks, a pacifier, diaper disposal bags (a fun find from the dollar store!), baby wipes, and hand sanitizer in the kit. Here are a bunch of items that can be included in an Oh Shit Kit:
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Hand wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- An extra onesie
- A bib
- Baby socks
- Pacifier
- Ziploc bags
- Trash bag
- Diaper disposal bags

You'll also need a bag to put everything in. I grabbed a 10 inch canvas bag from Michaels. Then, I used my Cricut to create an iron-on design for the front.
I cut the design out of blue Rainbow Watercolor Infusible Ink and pressed the design onto the bag using my heat press.
Once the bag was finished, I packed up the kit and included it with the rest of my sister's gifts. Easy and kind of cute for a bag that's going to see a lot of crap! Literally.
SUPPLIES
- Oh Sh!t Kit design file
- Cricut Maker
- Rainbow Watercolor Infusible Ink
- StandardGrip Mat
- Heat Resistant Tape
- EasyPress 2, 9" x 9"
- EasyPress Mat
- 10 inch canvas bag
STEPS
- Open the design file in Design Space. Resize, if necessary.
- Prepare a StandardGrip mat with Infusible Ink. Remember to mirror the image and cut the design.
- Weed the cut design and position on the canvas bag. Secure with heat resistant tape.
- Place the bag onto the EasyPress mat. Heat the EasyPress and use gentle pressure to press the design onto the bag.
- Remove the tape and backing from the design.
- Then, fill the bag with emergency baby essentials.
I love the way this turned out! It's a humorous gift with a cute design, but totally practical for the new mom. A 10 inch bag is a decent size. Mom should be able to pack quite a few things she needs to make those unpredictable - and poopy - momlife moments a bit easier to handle.
