Ever since Hunter was a puppy, we've kept a weekly wellness routine for him.  He quickly got used to being groomed (he actually really likes getting brushed), getting his teeth brushed, and having his ears cleaned.  Probably because he knows he'll get rewarded with a treat when he's all done!

Do you have a wellness routine for your pet?  Just like us, it's so important to protect our pets and keep their health in top shape on a daily basis.  So today I'm going to share some of the essentials we use for Hunter's weekly wellness routine.

Health and Wellness Essentials for Your Dog

Hunter is a Cairn Terrier.  He's better known as a "Toto dog" to most people!  His breed is prone to skin issues like allergies.  So it's especially important to keep his skin and coat healthy and moisturized.

We first noticed he had sensitive skin as a puppy.  He would itch and scratch like crazy!  Our vet recommended that we switch him to a grain-free diet.  That's been a big help!  But it's also nice to have a supplement to add to his meals that will keep his skin moisturized and his coat nice and shiny.

We also introduced a weekly tooth and ear cleaning routine to Hunter when he was a puppy.  Every week he gets his teeth cleaned (we try for twice a week and substitute brushings with dental treats in between) and his ears cleaned as well.  He sits well for brushings and hair cuts.  The bath...well, that's not as much fun, but we use oatmeal shampoo to help his skin issues.

  1. Wild Alaskan Salmon & Pollock Fish Oil
  2. Dog Ear Cleaner Solution
  3. Dog Ear Wipes
  4. Between Bath Pet Wipes
  5. Tartar Control Toothpaste for Dogs
  6. Dog Toothbrush
  7. Oatmeal Dog Shampoo
  8. Natural Flea Killing Spray
  9. Relax & Roll Calming Soft Chews
  10. Salmon Strips Dog Treats
  11. Pet Grooming Kit
  12. Two Sided Pet Grooming Brush

These are just some of the things we use for Hunter's weekly routine.  I've also added a few additional items that we keep on hand for him (like the natural flea spray).

If you recently got a new puppy or just want to make sure your dog's staying healthy, consider creating a weekly wellness routine for them!

Yes! We like to think our pets naturally have it covered, but sometimes it's nice to give them a healthy boost!
