The older I get, the more I become a fan of sweets. And when it comes to sweets, there's one chocolaty treat that sits at the very top of my list - brownies.
Brownies are my absolute weakness and I just happen to be married to one hell of a brownie master! So when the craving for this chocolate dessert hits, I usually buy a box of mix and put the hubs to work!
Recently, I decided to give my husband a break from brownie duty. I took my brownie craving to the next level and made some slutty brownies. They're the ultimate layered brownie dessert bar! And with Halloween coming up, I decided to give these slutty brownies a spooky season spin.
What is a Slutty Brownie?
If you're unfamiliar with slutty brownies, they're a fully loaded dessert. They're usually made with a bottom layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, then a layer of Oreo cookies, and finally a layer of gooey chocolate brownies.
If you love cookies and you love brownies, this loaded dessert will quickly become your favorite! Plus, they're pretty easy to make. Just layer everything in a pan, bake, cut into bars, and serve.
Spooky Slutty Halloween Brownies
Because we're totally in Halloween mode here, I used Pillsbury Ready-to-Bake pumpkin shape sugar cookie dough as my bottom layer. For the Oreo layer, I grabbed Halloween Oreos with the orange creme inside. Then, I used a standard box of double fudge brownies as my top layer.
We're going to cook these bars according to the brownie box. So preheat the oven according to the brownie box instructions. Then, grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Now, we're going to take the Halloween sugar cookie dough and press it into the bottom of the pan.
Next, gently press the Oreos into the cookie dough layer.
Prepare the brownie mix according to the instructions. Once the batter is mixed, pour it into the pan, covering the cookie layers. If you'd like, add some Halloween sprinkles on top before baking.
We're going to bake the brownies for 45 minutes, or until the batter is set and the cookie layer is golden brown. Allow the brownies to cool. Then, cut into bars and serve.
