Welcome to Holoka Home

January 5, 2024

Hello, everyone!  First, allow me to wish you a Happy 2024!  I kind of like the sound of that – 2024.  Numerologically speaking, I read that 2024 is an “8” year, meaning we’ll play on our strengths and maybe go through a bit of a growth spurt.  It’s a year of hope and change for the better.  I’m here for it and I think it works well with the changes happening here on my website. I hope as we move…

Living La Vida Holoka is Changing

December 27, 2023

Hello, friends!  So some big news…I am rebranding and changing the intention behind this website.  It’s been a long journey with Living La Vida Holoka.  And while I’ve had my fair share of fun, my passion has dwindled over the past few years. You know how Albert Einstein said, “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?”  That’s kind of how running this website has felt.  While my blog has been my business, there’s been…

Why I’m Not Choosing a Word of the Year this Year

January 1, 2019

This year, I’m forgetting New Year’s resolutions and not choosing a word of the year. Instead, I’m owning each day of 2019 and pushing forward. Happy New Year!  There are 365 fresh, new days ahead of us!  Every year, I make my list of goals and resolutions.  I choose a word to guide me throughout the year.  But by the end of last year, I fell short on some of my goals and totally forgot what my word of the…

Laurita Winery OktoberFest and Food Truck Festival

October 9, 2018

If there’s one thing that bonds our family together, it’s food. And wine. So we put those two things together and attended Laurita Winery Oktoberfest – a delicious food truck and wine festival – this past weekend.  The plans were made by one of my sisters.  She purchased a Groupon for 10 to attend this event at the local New Jersey winery.  I’m familiar with a couple local Jersey-made wines, but I wasn’t familiar with this winery.  I learned that…
