Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner! I can't even say I'm excited for the halftime show this year. My husband doesn't even tune into the game for long. We'll probably end up switching to Puppy Bowl for a little while (I mean, cuteness overload!) and ultimately end up watching something totally unrelated to football. The one thing we will partake in, however, is the food. We do love that football food!
I'll usually buy our basic variety of frozen appetizers like chicken wings, pigs in a blanket, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, and some kind of small pizza bite like pizza rolls or pizza bagels. Easy heat and eat style that I can serve right on the sheet pan. But this year, I decided to add a homemade frozen appetizer to my Super Bowl spread using one of my favorite ingredients - puff pastry.

If you are a fan of football party food and pepperoni pizza, these little puff pastry bundles are totally going to be your jam! Squares of puff pastry are filled with pizza sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, Italian seasonings, and sliced pepperoni and wrapped up into handheld bundles. They're totally customizable, too. Instead of pepperoni, you could add crumbled sausage, veggies, or leave them plain and cheesy!

Serve these little pepperoni pizza bundles with warm pizza sauce on the side for dipping. If you want to make them ahead of time to freeze, allow them to cool. Spread the bundles evenly on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer. Once frozen, you can store them in plastic wrap or foil. Then, just reheat and enjoy!

To start these pepperoni pizza bundles, we need to preheat the oven to 400ºF and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, roll out each puff pastry sheet and cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.

Now, we can start making our bundles. Spoon a little pizza sauce into the middle of each square of puff pastry. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top. Then, layer two slices of pepperoni on top of the cheese.

To form the bundles, you're going to gather two edges of the puff pastry square and bring them in until they meet in the center. Press the edges together to seal them shut.

Carefully move each pizza bundle to the prepared baking sheet. Then, brush egg wash on top of each bundle and sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.

Bake the pepperoni pizza bundles for about 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the puff pastry is golden brown and flaky. Warm up some pizza sauce for dipping and serve the puff pastry bundles.
