During the summer months, we make our fair share of homemade burgers outside on the grill. They're always accompanied by crispy fries, cooked to golden perfection in the oven or in our air fryer.
But here's the thing - when you're cooking burgers outside and fries inside at the same time, you usually need someone to man the grill while someone else checks on the fries. So I decided to skip the two-person job by throwing burgers and fries together on a kebab!
Think you can't grill frozen fries and potato puffs? Guess again! When it's too hot to turn on the oven, bring the frozen potatoes outside! They take about the same time to cook on the grill as a the mini burger patties do! It's an easy way to have the best of burgers and fries all on one stick!
If you're a cheeseburger lover, don't worry. I've got you covered! I added some shredded cheddar blend into the homemade patties. It melts down as the mini burgers cook and adds cheesy flavor throughout!
Fries on the grill? Oh, it's lit!
But let's talk about grilling frozen potatoes. Seems a bit crazy. Right? It's actually a super easy way to add fries and potato puffs to your barbecue.
For these kebabs, I used Grown in Idaho's Crispy Potato Puffs from my local ACME. They're one of my favorites to make! No matter how you cook them - in the oven, air fryer, or the grill - they're always golden brown and crispy!
Grown In Idaho Super Crispy Crinkle Cut Fries are another favorite of ours! We love how the crispy, crinkle edges grab and hold tight onto dipping sauces! The thicker cut of these fries would also work well for these kebabs (use two fries in place of one potato puff)!
The best frozen potato for these Burger and Fries Kebabs!
Food always tastes best when it's made with fresh, quality ingredients and Lamb Weston knows a thing or two about potatoes. After all, they've been in the potato business since 1950! Grown in Idaho fries and potato puffs stay super crispy on the outside and fluffy, full, and tender on the inside. Just like fries should be!
The trick to getting a perfectly skewered burger and fries kebab is to let the frozen potatoes thaw almost completely. That way, they're easy to skewer onto a stick with the rest of the ingredients!
Since there's only two of us to feed in this house, I just made four kebabs for dinner one night last week. I served them with a side of Crispy Potato Puffs and a green salad. It was a perfect summer meal!

So where you can you find these tasty Grown in Idaho frozen potato products? I found mine in the frozen foods aisle at ACME while I was grabbing some things for my husband's week off. Check the Lamb Weston website to find them in a store near you.
